TOWER OF ECHOES Your privacy

Tower of Echoes privacy policy

Last updated 25 October 2026

Your tower and your progress are saved on your phone. We need no account of our own and do not sell your data. If you sign in with Google Play Games, we keep the season leaderboards and your player profile in Google Firebase. With your consent, the game sends anonymous usage statistics. The game shows occasional ads (Google AdMob); a one-time purchase, Full game, removes them.

What is stored, and why

DataWhyWhere
Your game save (your hero, skills, gear, gold, echoes, floors reached, play time), this season's attempts and their times, your records and settingsTo keep your game between sessions; play time is used so no ads show in your first minutes of play, and for the season boardsOnly on your phone; it is never sent to us
If you sign in with Google Play Games: your gamer name and player ID, a Firebase user ID, your leaderboard scores (the highest point and the fastest time to the Keeper in each season, Keepers slain), the climb you were on, your badges and their counts, and the date you first signed inTo show you on the leaderboards, in the hall of fame and on your player profile; to award season badgesOur Firebase project (Google Cloud Firestore in Belgium, europe-west1; sign-in by Firebase Authentication)
Anonymous usage statistics: that the game was opened, Guardians defeated, heroes retired, towers finished and attempts begun (with play times and heights), plus device and app information. No advertising IDTo see how the game is played and where it can be improvedFirebase Analytics (Google), only after you agree in the consent form where that is required
Advertising ID, device and app information, IP address and your ad-consent choice (until you buy Full game)To show an occasional full-screen ad after a Guardian falls, or a short ad you choose to watch for a reward, and to measure it; personalised only if you consentGoogle AdMob, collected by Google
Your purchase of Full gameTo remove ads on every phone using your Google accountGoogle Play Billing; we never see your payment details
Feedback you send from Menu → Feedback: your message and its kind, your email address only if you add it, game and Android version, phone model, language, how high your tower is, whether you own Full game, and a Firebase user ID (your Play Games one, or an anonymous one made just for sending feedback)To read your ideas, fix problems and, if you gave your email, answer youOur Firebase project (as above). Only we can read it; deleted after 12 months
If you email us: your address, what you write and the details the game addsTo answer you and fix problemsOur email; deleted when no longer needed, at the latest after 12 months

Google's servers process your IP address and basic device information to deliver sign-in, leaderboards, ads and purchases.

What other players see: your Play Games gamer name, scores, the climb you were on, badges and the date you first signed in are shown to other signed-in players, and a top-three place in a season stays in the hall of fame. You choose your gamer name in the Play Games app.

Who processes the data, and on what basis

Midnight Syntax Labs is responsible for the leaderboard, profile, feedback and analytics data; Google processes it for us as Firebase's provider (Firebase privacy and security). Ads, Play Games sign-in and the Full game purchase are provided by Google, which acts as an independent controller for that data. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

  • Leaderboards, profiles and badges: to provide the feature you choose by signing in. You can play without signing in.
  • Feedback and emails to us: our legitimate interest in answering you and improving the game; you choose to send them.
  • Usage statistics and personalised ads: your consent. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the game asks before any ad is requested or statistics are collected; change your choice at any time under Menu → Privacy choices.
  • Fair seasons: our legitimate interest in fair leaderboards; scores are checked before badges are granted, and impossible scores are removed.

Some of Google's processing may take place outside the EU; Google covers such transfers with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long it is kept

  • Your save: on your phone until you begin a new tower, a season ends, or you uninstall the game. Your records and season history stay until you uninstall.
  • Leaderboards and your player profile: for as long as the leaderboards run (past seasons are kept as the hall of fame), or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Usage statistics: at most 14 months.
  • Feedback and emails: at most 12 months.
  • Full game: the purchase stays with your Google account so it can be restored.

Delete your data

  • Your game: Menu → Begin a new tower starts again from the first hero. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage in Android's app settings, deletes everything saved on your phone.
  • Leaderboards and your player profile: email midnightsyntaxlabs@gmail.com with your Play Games gamer name. We delete your scores in every season, your profile and badges, normally within 30 days.
  • Usage statistics: they are not linked to your name. Withdraw consent under Menu → Privacy choices and no more are collected.
  • Ads: reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
  • Play Games: to delete your Play Games profile itself, use the Google Play Games app.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to midnightsyntaxlabs@gmail.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority—in Denmark, Datatilsynet.

Children

Tower of Echoes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
